AC sometimes keeps loading forever.

AC keeps crashing with an "unexpected error" when launching a session.

I have been playing AC for years and mostly it has worked flawlessly but in recent months I have encountered an issue that sometimes when launching a session the game keeps loading, but never completes loading. I have waited well over 10 minutes and nothing happens, normally the game loads very fast. The problem is not tied to any specific car, track, mode, it can happen with any or the game can work fine with any, mods or official content.

I use CSP 0.1.77, CM, Sol 2.2.

Things I have tried:
- Fault tolerant heap fix
- Reinstalling CSP
- Manually updating CM
- Updating GPU driver. Ran DDU for clean install
- Rolling CSP back to 0.1.76
- update Windows to 21H2

System: W10, 1230v3, GTX1070, 16gb ram, SSD, SB Z, G920+shifter

None of those has helped. Any ideas what I should do?

Have you tried disabling multithreaded/smoother loading in CSP? I turn off everything in that section to make sure AC is stable.

Now the infinite loading seems to have stopped but instead the game crashes with an "Unexpected error" sometimes when starting a session. Again it's not tied to any specific car or track.

From log:

I've looked through the logs, reports, dumps and found nothing useful. Would love to get the game working well again

The possible sources for a crash with a nvwgf2umx.dll may be very different from one another.
It may be Nvidia driver, an antivirus, Steam or Discord overlays, GPU overclocking, the game itself .... etc ... etc ...

Google it and you'll find different sites explaining possible solutions or anyway helping to find the possible reason for the problem.

I think I have fixed it. After resetting the CSP Graphic adjustments settings to default I've done a dozen or so sessions without issue.

I went back to an older GPU driver (497.29) and it had no effect. I also tried pretty much all the fixes in various "how to fix nvwg2umx error" guides and they had no effect. Except for removing GPU OC, can't do that when it's not OC'd in the first place.

It was one of the methods: reinstall the game.
In fact, you just did it partially when resetting the CSP adjustments. :D

Hope it's really fixed and you can enjoy AC without any new problem. ;)
