AC very low sound, help, please!

Looking for some help...

I played AC for a while and had no sound issues. I think I turned the sound down low one evening to hear Discord better but can't now turn the sound up at all (the timing may be a coincidence, though).

Basically, I can't hear anything in the menus and when driving I can just about hear some engine noise.

I tried an uninstall/reinstall, which didn't work. I then did the same again plus I manually deleted all the AC files in Documents and all the AC filed in Steamapps. I also verified the AC files in Steam after the install. Same, disappointing, result.

This is really frustrating and it's spoiling my enjoyment of the game. Plus I am missing out on a lot of valuable audio information.

I have no sound issues on any other game or program.

Can anyone help?

You turned up the volume in the in-game audio app (findable when you mouse over to the right hand side of the screen, once in game)?

I didn't know about that. Thanks, I will try that tomorrow.

It may be similar to a problem I have - windows seems to lower the volume of AC occasionally for some reason.

If you right-click on the speaker icon in taskbar, and select “open sound settings”; you can select any open apps and change volume.

AC needs to be open when you do this.

I checked in game and I have everything turned up to maximum but I still have minimal sound.

I will take a look at the Windows settings next, thanks.

Thanks Mr Chip, I tried the Windows sound with AC running and found that it was down to practically zero.

What a strange thing and I would never have thought to check that.

Yep it’s weird as it seems to be only AC that it affects (for me anyway).
