FM7 ACO to WEC esports to use Forza

Just read about this on Autosport
Not sure about posting links but basically the ACO are launching WEC esports with Motorsport Network
They will be having Forza as the title to compete.

Must be a hell of a lot of fun with no driver swaps or proper 24 hour simulation. Organized by an organization and a site who have absolutely zero affiliation with proper sim-racing.

And looks like not even the people on here who play Forza could care less. Lol. Not sure how many of them there are on here anyway.

Guess most of us who are interested in esports will just have to wait and see what options ACC brings as at least people use that title.

It somewhat makes sense as an e-sport because, well, it's a game with its own mechanics and not a simulation of reality. Unlike a true-to-life sim, it requires a set of talents and skills that doesn't converge completely with IRL racing and therefore it's a different competition.

...not that I'd ever want to watch a forza racing series, or follow it. But hey, if there are people willing to compete then it has a right to exist, and if there is any sponsor interest, let there be prizes.

One of the main sponsors at Le Mans is Xbox One and Forza judging by the last couple of 24 hour races at least.
