AI mechanical retirements - [semi-randim] engine failure possible.

hi, just wanted to tell that I noticed, that although Assetto Corsa does not feature random AI mechanical retirements, I managed to make them happen.
I edited engine.ini file RPM_THRESHOLD= value making it lower, so that AI cars (and my car as well regularly go a bit over this value).
I made me perform manual gearing up, overriding "automatic gear" which I admit I use. AI cars are slower after this RPM_THRESHOLD change - they somehow know there
is a risk... but nearing the end of the race, some of them begin to retire - smoke appears, one AI then another....
Of course, I had to experiment with values, because it is sensitive, just a bit off, and AI cars will retire on the first lap. I adjusted length of race, say ~ 15 laps.
On lap 12-13 first AI cars retire, you never know which AI has abused the engine too much, quite interesting.

it's all experimental, depends on car, category. If it is 14100 (RPM) make it to 12100... but it is sensitive, 200 RPM's too small value and all AI cars will retire on the first lap.

Hey Marg, sorry to be digging up an old thread, but did you ever make any more progress figuring this out? Would love to have the possibility of mechanical failures for racing with AI.
