AI pit strategy

Does anyone know how the AI does it's pit strategy? So far I only ever did 20 minute no-stop races with the AI, but I decided to do an ADAC Masters championship with 45 minute races and after everybody had pitted I found myself 10 places down. Do they start with a full tank or not change tires?

Do you make sure you make a pit request on the lap before pitting?
Don't fuel up as it takes longer than just changing tyres.

When doing a race with ADAC GT Masters rules, don't rotate your tyres in the pits as it adds 10 seconds to your minimum pit stop time.

Thats right.....driver change only. Minimum time is 60 seconds , I believe.
