ai with different cars

Dear racingfriends
I drive sometimes a race with ai and I like it with different cars. So what I dont understand is following:
- is the ai considering the power of the car really? Sometimes I think a powerful car must be more faster then a slowly car.
Do I have to look the power and weight of every car, that I have a fair race with different cars?
- At the start many cars stay at the start or go to the box. For example I select 15 different cars, starting the race, 8 cars keep staying???? whats the reason for that?

That gives me an idea about the selection.
But do you know why so many cars stay at the start line if the race goes on. I drive sometimes with 8 cars although I selected 15 cars.

I don't have a clue. Nothing like that has ever happened to me. On some not-completed mod tracks, I've had the whole grid stay still at the start but never a fraction of them moving off and the rest staying
