Amazing week in AC modding

@Simberia
What a week!

The release of the headlight mod, along with the release of the wet weather mod, has added so many new elements to Assetto Corsa. The most recent addition of 24 hour day-to-night transitions brings the options of Endurance Racing to all of us.

I drove a Caterham (mod) at night (mod) around Cadwell Park (mod) today and it was a fantastic thrill. Next up is the full 24 hour Le Mans experience, something I last tried in Gran Turismo 4 ten years ago.

My thanks to all those incredibly talented modders out there.

I couldn't agree more and am very happy to see continued development of mods for AC.

Not all that long ago folks said that night and weather were impossible, and there are still some who will criticize. Don't forget, some of these mods are WIP, and the best is yet to come.

It impacts performance for sure but not a giant killer.

Lol... do you know that you have a GTX 1080Ti? isn't it?... now make the same benchmark on my GTX 750Ti Msi 2GB vRam.... i'll wait.

I jumped the gun with the 24 hour full transition, don't think it is operable yet, but I am sure it is only a matter of time (pardon the pun).

The wet weather and night mods are truly stunning already.

The last bend on Road Atlanta is spectacular with the new headlight mod

well, there are rips from NFS also, or PC2, or whatever old sim and game there was... if you're standards are low you'll have 1000+ in no time. And probably half of them will have either the E92 M3 or Mito physics ;) And no AO anywhere.
I just kind of collect every one I come across, then use the CM star rating to easily filter them. Most of them I'll never drive more than once but they can be useful to flesh out AI grids or harvest sound effects from. Some of the best audio I've got has been from abysmally-modelled cars that are borderline undriveable. There are plenty of good mods with terrible sound, so dropping better audio in from something that should be e-crushed can be a nice quick fix.

I've been playing AC for around 4 months now on the PC. Long time Forza player. Let me tell you, making the financial sacrifice to buy myself a PC, Oculus Rift, and commiting to AC has been one of the best decisions I've ever made! I want to thank the modding community for what you all have done. AC is beyond amazing because of your hard work. The amount of tracks I have is insane. One of my new favorite past times is selecting a random track that I've never heard of, and driving it for at least an hour. Then I go further and read the history of the track via the interwebs. This game has changed my sim racing life!!
