any way to regulate strength of those rotary encoder CTS288V

i use 2 of these on my buttobox problem is one is too easy to turn and sometimes i can turn it 2-3 times if want just once i must be very gentle wit it which is hard during racin , the other one is stiff and good. is way to regulate it to be harder or its broken?
