In Content Manager/Optimization/CPU/GPU, check off all the boxes except merge meshes.
This pretty much doubled my physics detail.
My computer seems to have a problem with threading in AC.

He apparently had a motherboard issue causing his game to feel lifeless. And looks like replacing the motherboard fixed it.

Yeah!
As in detail, generally missing physics. The wheel was lighter, less connection both ways. The car would go into a life less slide with no FFB when the back slid out.
