Assetto Corsa: New Mazda MX5 Previews

Kunos Simulazioni have released several preview images of the new Mazda MX5 due to form part of the upcoming JDM DLC for Assetto Corsa.

Forming part of a Japanese DLC package, the 2016 World Car of the Year and World Car Design of the Year will be making its debut in Kunos' racing simulator on the 18th of May. The little MX5 has proven to be a popular choice for several years now in racing titles such as iRacing, and there is no reason why AC's version should prove to be any less popular with fans of the game.

The 2015 MX5 is a nimble 129hp rear wheel drive sports car that should encourage close on-track action whilst providing an entertaining driving experience. Kunos have indicated the JDM Car Pack will also include a more performance oriented MX5 Cup Car - a 155hp dedicated racing version of the little MX5 road-going equivalent.

The MX5s are quite popular as entry level racing class and people coming from iRacing or more arcady titles like GT will definitely welcome this addition.

I have a love/hate relationship with this car.
Well, at least with this car in iRacing which is known for sometimes weird tire behavior.

Great to see that there will be the Cup Car in there as i'm not the least interested in street cars.

Seems a bit odd that they haven't released a definitive list of cars in this pack or have I just missed it? I know there are some lists around but where are the preview videos, etc? It's out tomorrow after all. I will get it anyway for the Cup car as it is fun in other sims but it just seems like they aren't putting much effort into marketing this one.

Not so interested in the cars (with the exception of the MX5 Cup), but more so the actual core game improvements coming in 1.6. I haven't heard anything about it.

Anyone know?

They have shown pics of a stock version of the RX-7 and also a version with an aftermarket wing on it.
And those free cars aren't part of tomorrows update AFAIK

tbh the prices have always been fair so i dont see a reason why it would be different here.

It'll have to be tbh, don't get me wrong I'm all for more cars, and the MX-5 is a fun little thing to drive in iRacing. But it would've been the perfect time to include one or more Japanese tracks, or Laguna Seca.

I agree it would be nice to have a track but as far as I know they only have one track builder. And I know from experience that tracks take a ton of time. I'm sure he is busy working on red bull ring right now.
