Asus STRIX-GTX1060-6G

Hi I have a quick question regarding Graphics. I have been to the shop and the assistant was useless.
I have a msi h61m-p31/w8 motherboard, I would like to add Asus strix gtx 1060 6gb.
I have 750w psu (top make but can't remember right now the make)
Is it possible or can anyone tell me how to find this out because it's alot of money not to work.

The worry I have is this, the motherboard I have last update was 2013. I am worried to buy the card so much, (I had it in my hands today so tempted) but if my mother board rejects it I wasted alot of cash or have to spend more on a newer motherboard and ram maybe.
Right now I have a HD7970 3gb with a I5 3570
16gb ripjaws ram.
I am looking on Google but to me the info is vague as it's not my skillset.
Thanks 90% sure to buy it but nagging doubt lol.

My M-B is a Z97 from around 2014. I'm not the most qualified in this area , maybe try looking at some techie forums like Reddit?
