I was thinking about this today. Who here would like to see the R8 get the RS7 motor? I'm thinking it may be lighter that having a large V-10. They are also both only 5hp apart. Plus, the car is called an R8 not an R10.
The RS7's 4.0 TSFI engine makes 119lbs more torque. The 4.0L would also still be LMS legal. I'm thinking they cam probably squeeze out 700hp/680lb just to separate it from the RS7.
Couple that with an 8 speed or 10 speed paddle shift set up and IMO, you'd have a winner. Maybe change the model designation to the 'RS8'.
What say you all?
