Auto Club Revolution

By " Console Quality " they are alluding to the presentation of the game. It's a browser based game, which normally looks meh but this is very polished graphically compared to your average browser based game. It's not the physics as confirmed by one of the devs.

Have been following this for an age, and the old site seemed to have died a death, so I presumed the project had bit the dust. More than happy to see work has progressed.

Graphically, the screenshots they have released look more than acceptable. Just hope it has a more than average physics engine, then I think we're set.

I have an alternative title for my full blown sim experience, and this would sit nicely alongside DIRT3 as a more than adequate alternative, when just wanting to get behind the wheel and drive without worrying too much about hits to license rating and such, lol.

I've signed up for the BETA, so will have to see what they come up with.

:D

Eutechnyx today revealed the first batch of cars to feature in the Closed Beta Test of upcoming online racing game and car community Auto Club Revolution, also revealing additional new information about the game’s racing engine and physics model.
The car list reveals a range which fits into Auto Club Revolution’s eight tiers of car classification, all of which will be used during the Closed Beta tests which are scheduled to start in July. Ranging from sporty hatchbacks in Class E through to top tier cars like the Bugatti Veyron in the Exotic class, the first batch sets out the range of car classes that will be in use during the first phase of beta testing.

Eutechnyx COO Darren Jobling said: “This first batch of cars is the very tip of the iceberg in terms of automotive content for Auto Club Revolution. The free-to-play and online nature of our game means we are able to quickly add new batches of cars we have created on a regular basis.

He continues, “As we build out Auto Club Revolution’s content, players can expect to find a huge range of cars, including historic, collectors and current models alongside exclusive previews and first looks at the concept cars of tomorrow.”
The cars announced, and which will be available in the Closed Beta are:
  • 2005 Bugatti EB16/4 Veyron
  • 1993 McLaren F1

Eutechnyx creative manager Mark Barton said: “The significance of these renders is much greater than just demonstrating the quality of the Eutechnyx creative team. The cars seen in-game and in the browser are created using the models seen in these renders. The level of detail reveals the quality and realism of the cars in Auto Club Revolution, which is just one reason why what we’re bringing to the free-to-play games market is something special.”

Auto Club Revolution Closed Beta begins in July 2011. Anyone interested in participating in testing should sign up at here.

So because a Honda is missing the entire game is a fail? Strange reasoning.

Screenshots look great to me.
