Automobilista 2 locking up

Since the V1.0 release when I purchased the game, I have experienced lockups. It usually happens at the same spot every time. Here is the scenario.

1. Single race against the AI
2. Weather does not seem to matter
3. Is not track or car dependent
4. The lockup occurs right after I cross the finish line where you have the option to watch a replay, redo the race, or exit.
5. The mouse still works and the game is still showing the post race animation in the background.

I have to end task (ctrl, Alt, del) and relaunch the game. It does not crash to desktop, but does not respond to any inputs. Any ideas on what could be causing this? I kept thinking each patch may fix the issue, but still having it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It doesn't respond to controller inputs in the post-race menus either? That's really weird, haven't seen this one before. Are you running anything that could be stealing focus? Long shot I know.

I've had this once or twice. I think I ran the replay, returned to the race screen and was stuck. Had to force close AMS2.

I am good with longshots. Sometimes they work . The T300 inputs also do not work either. I have also minimized and come back to it to make sure it was the software in focus. Only other app I have running is SimHub, and admit I have not tried to run AMS2 without it. I did look in the Windows event viewer, and see an error at times with the Event ID of 1002 and a Source of Application Hang for AMS2. However, I do notice it locks up more than what the event viewer is showing. I was going to add the entire error here, but I updated Windows 10 to version 2004 last night, and it actually clears the logs when this update occurs.

I finally figured out why AMS2 was locking up. I locks up when I am using Sim Dashboard. The Windows task can be running, but if I actually have my Android device using the Sim Dashboard app it will lockup AMS2 after the race has completed. I use SimHub for my Buttkicker, and decided to have its dashboard running on the second monitor today instead of using my Sim Dashboard on my Android device. I had 0 lockups all day. I decided to go back to Sim Dashboard this evening and every race locked up. I started going back and forth testing, and found Sim Dashboard running on Android device = lockup, and when it didn't run everything was good.

I had this exact thing last night, but the only apps I had running in the background were SteamVR/WMR/SimHub and Crew Chief; and with SimHub the baseshaker was off, so wasn't being used.

I had a similar issue, except the game would actually close completely as soon as the camera cut to the replay view when you finished the race.

However, it seems to have been fixed as of the latest update.

EDIT: No, it hasn't. However, the only track I've found it occurs on is Snetterton 300. Car selection doesn't seem to matter.

Looks like the latest update made things worse. My last posting was before the latest update. As of the latest update it doesn't even get to the post race screen and lockup. You cross the finish line, and immediate crash to desktop. Only app running this time was SimHub for my Buttkicker and the game.

Edit: As @Phantom Lord mentioned. It seems to only be happening on Snetterton as far as crashing to desktop. I have not tested to see if the issue I was having with lockups when using Sim Dashboard. I will probably give it a try tomorrow.

There's an update just been released. Amongst a host of other items, there's this:

" Snetterton: Fixed crash at race end."

So fingers crossed it's all good now

This is what I like about Reiza. We see an issue in the forums, and they fix it in the next patch release. Actually they had one where they responded to me and the issue was fixed the following day. So few companies listen these days. A far cry better than the likes of the other companies that used the SMS engine.

This sim is really starting to distance itself from Project Cars. At first you could feel it in the underlying mechanics, but now things are just starting to feel all there own. The racing just feels right.

I wanted to revisit this as I am still having this issue. I have reinstalled, stopped most of my applications from running, but about 50% of the time I lockup at the screen just after a race has completed as shown in the screenshot in my first post. We have gone through several patches, and still have the issue. I have not noticed it being car or track specific. Any ideas on what my issue could be?

Probably a long shot, but have you tried deleting your Documents\Automobilista 2 folder? I know you said you've reinstalled, but that doesn't necessarily remove this folder which contains all your personal settings etc.
