FFB ajustments for Group C, GT1, GT3 (all models) Cadillac DPi, F-V12, GT1, GTE, GT3, GT4, Group C, BMW Procar

Improved AI lines in the following specific cases: when defending position, when avoiding lateral contact with a human player, when avoiding corner-cutting; Improved detection of incidents that lead to yellow flags or full course yellow.
Adjusted AI lateral movement ratio (generally less jerky moves to try to overtake)

Looking forward to testing these two out. Hopefully, the ffb adjustments will give me a good feeling again like I had pre 1.40 update....I haven't been able to dial in good tire detail of late. It just feels like a heavy spring with vibrations, really hoping they have finally fixed the ai corner cutting and jerky movements :)

What a great update. The amount of content and improvements over the last year make AMS2 and its season pass one of my best gaming purchases ever. I got it on sale last Christmas during the sale I can't believe all the content it included. Will definitely be buying the 2023 season pass as well

A.I still drive on the grass and can just floor the throttle out of low speed corners in the GT1`s, still getting rammed from behind at the chicane at Daytona RC don`t see much improvement TBH :(

The addition of the Nissans for free is fantastic, the retro tracks I'm slightly interested in, tho I have no interest in the rest of the paid dlc....I already have a ton of retro open wheelers I never touch, maybe I'll pick up the tracks down the road when it's on sale.

I quickly tested the Nissan GT3 at Nords for a few laps....ffb was slightly improved but I'm still struggling with rear end tire slip detail?
The rear just swings visually left to right with little to no detail in the ffb....very odd.
Using default ffb setting and the suggested settings for my wheel based off the reiza ffb thread.
Gonna delete my ffb file and restart, hopefully that will solve the issue.

Tried vanilla Custom and Default yesterday after update. Still struggling to make friends with FFB/physics. The feedback is informative, plenty of chatter, but not as intuitive as in Kunos titles, may be it's mostly underlying physics engine issue. (shrug)
Great progress otherwise, perhaps too much content of a too varied quality.

Hotfix is out already.

I agree the game has made great progress from where it started, tho like you I still don't find the ffb very intuitive, lots of chatter but I find the tire and chassis feedback lacks compared to iracing with there latest GT3 & Prototype update.

Tho I will admit the visuals and atmospheric detail lapping the Nords, early morning in November with fog in certain areas and the sun peaking through the trees is an absolutely phenomenal experience!!!

I actually think that the FFB is great but I must admit that I have a custom profile in Fanalab and I use the default+ profile instead of default.

I did lots of tweaking in Fanalab to adjust it to my taste.

I was hoping the BT52 would be worth the wait. Yep, it looks & sounds amazing, and it handles like a plastic bag of angry fish! I much prefer old cars without aids and electronics, and wasn't too fussed about Senna's run of Mclarens past the MP4/4, even though they are the last of the H shifter cars. But Wow! The MP4/5B may well be the most rewarding F1 car I've ever driven. It's that good. Just a revelation of noise and speed and handling. The Group C Nissan is broken in LD mode, but it should be fixed before too long.

This is just the best thing to happen in simracing for a while. I've been waiting for a good licensed Senna F1 cars since forever. The MP4/4 drives like how you'd expect it to, and the MP4/5 sounds insane! The best sounding car in simracing hands down.

Default+ is the worst in my experience, too overprocessed.
Try Default or even blank Custom, make sure to delete any
Documents\Automobilista 2\ffb_custom_settings.txt and switch to Custom in game, that will use the most closest to physics generated FFB, you might need to add some extra damping in driver though as it's pretty loose.
This is the description from vanilla ffb_custom_settings.txt

# NAME: basic
#
# this file gives you raw & unaltered force as integrated by physics engine
# acting on steering rack of the vehicle physical model
# Summing these two valuee effectievly gives you rackforce.

Not sure why Reiza supports 3 different out of the box FFB flavors and how they tune FFB for individual cars. Using all three, doubt that as same car feels drastically different depending on profile chosen?
Solid, one flavor FFB should be the priority number one if it's not already.

Is anyone else having this issue. When I get out of the game and go back in it selects the stock car and does not save my previous car. Also it then populates the stock cars in my race/grid setup even when I didn't change anything?

Man, I feel for Reiza.

A fantastic developer that has made great strides with this title but the endless amount of bugs left by SMS in this engine that have plagued it for the past 10+ yrs continue to spoil things.

On paper, this engine is a sim racers dream but in reality almost every aspect of the engine has some sort of issue.

AI still has issues, it would be nice if Reiza would inform us which combos have been improved, instead of just saying in the build note AI issue has been improved...I find it a bit unrealistic that with the amount of content they are able to improve all the combos between builds.

Graphics are beautiful at times if you have a super computer but jaggy shadows, and poor performance with changing weather and day to night transition.

Audio has improved but several vehicles still have popping/crackling and distortion.

MP is pretty basic, with 95% of the current servers running arcade settings. Ex no tire wear, damage, fuel etc.
Hopefully they will implement a simulation and rookie class rotation.
Asides from the races I've done here at RD...the rest of my attempts in public servers has been a crap shoot and can honestly say I've had better cleaner races in Forza 4 back in the day lol.

Hopefully, Reiza can sort the major issues in a reasonable time frame.

Honestly, I haven't felt like the AI improved. They are still trying to push me off and not leaving any space when you exit the corner side by side with them. T1 Spa is a nightmare still, you go inside and the AI beside you squeeze you to in, you go outside and the AI squeeze you to the buffer.

It's subjective, I have a great experience with Default+ and my custom Fanalab profile. I really like the FFB as it is now.
