I just thought I'd share what I did to my Thrustmaster Ferrari F1 wheel to improve the feel. I wrapped it with some bicycle handlebar tape with a "suede" feel. It's not a complete alcantara type feel but it's way better than the crappy rubber that is on this wheel. I secured the end with superglue. The wrap is glued to itself so if you need to return to "stock" you can. It really feels awesome and I prefer this thicker feel. I used Sram supersuede bicycle tape that I ordered from Amazon for about $20. I only used one roll and it comes with two.
