Does this need a lighthouse for it to be used for sim racing?

I've got a G2 arriving in the first batch but keep reading how good a wider fov is. Only concern is the lower resolution and how easy it'd be to move on if I don't like it.

Hi you do not need a base station/lighthouse to use this for Sim racing - the Pimax headset has in-built tracking. However I do have one on my motion sim rig when I race in VR and found that it provides me with a greater depth of view when viewing apexes etc which does add to the immersion/experience
