Newly crowned Formula One World Champion Lewis Hamilton will travel to Brazil for the penultimate round of the 2015 FIA Formula One World Championship a day late on doctors advice due to illness.
Forced to miss a press conference event in Interlagos due to his delayed travel plans, speculation was rife locally that the having already secured the drivers and manufactures titles the Mercedes superstar would opt to miss the Grand Prix this weekend in order to recover from his illness.
"No, he's not going to miss the race... He's going to be a day late. The doctor advised him to cancel the earlier flight so he missed a press conference today", a spokesperson confirmed to Reuters news agency.
Hamilton himself took to social media to explain the silence from himself on the medium, citing that he had been suffering from a fever. Whether this will impact his performance in the coming weekends Brazilian Grand Prix remains to be seen.
With a Brazilian Grand Prix victory one of the few missing highlights from a spectacular CV Hamilton will be hoping that is something he can put right on Sunday and deny his German teammate and title protagonist Nico Rosberg a second straight Grand Prix victory in Brazil after his 2014 success.
