Button box for chat

I have seen a few people post "sorry" and "thanks" to their button boxes. Is there an easy way to do quick chat commands and map them to a single button? Joy2key seems an obvious candidate to do it. I think it can be done in crew chief too, but to be frank, I don't have a scooby how to do it.

Okay, I've found it and have added some messages. How do I define the button to trigger the message please? I can only find a single keybind for chat shortcuts in the controls menu

That single keybind youre talking about. Set that up for whatever button you want then when you press it in game it brings up a menu with your pre-defined messages. Then you choose the number.
