It's that time again! We are doing our standard warmup-event for an endurance league, and this time, this takes us to Spa-Francorchamps. As the ByKolles were quite popular in Monza when we did the same kind of event, we'll bring that out again!
What's needed though, is a healthy grid to sustain three classes. So the more entries, the more times we can have combinations like this!

Eligibility: You must be a PREMIUM member. You must also use your REAL NAME on all RD servers and Discord, and include this in your forum profile. It is the only way of identifying who you are during an event.

INFORMATION & BASIC RULES

• It is the responsibility of faster cars to safely overtake slower cars. When a faster car is overtaking a slower car (in a different class), whether a blue flag is being shown to the slower car or not, the slower car should be predictable and remain on the racing line. The faster car should execute the overtake only when it is safe to do so. If a faster car is lapping another car in the same class then the same rule applies; some cooperation may be required to facilitate the overtake. Please be sensible.
• All of the standard Racing Club Rules still apply to this event.
• You do not need to nominate which car you will drive, but should specify in which class you would like to drive when signing up.

Yeah we run live weather, I honestly hadn't checked weather, now you've got me scared lol I am arguably one of the worst drivers in the rain in RF2.

Thanks for the tag yesterday, I actually had a look the other day but missed the thread and mistook the NASCAR race for Friday night, Shame I missed it, road America is a great track. I did actually wake up at 5am today and was tempted to join but had to head out pretty early today.

Well I'm fooked

Our forecast (tomorrow.io) and their ClimaCellV4 API doesn't show as much rain as... uhm, accuweather? I guess Jimmi (still he who runs it, right?) and myself uses two different weather apps and API's. There's a couple of reasons why I like ClimaCell and tomorrow.io, one of them is the forecast-probability!
"forecast is used in cloud roll in/out mode to get in clouds before rain happens (Note: Only climacell API!). That means if forecast tells the client that rain will happen next 40minutes with a cumulated duration of some time, cloudiness is set to 100%. The forecast poll is done every 10min."
Which we noticed yesterday in the Road Atlanta race. It varied quite a lot with cloud cover.
"The client will take the probability into account in some situations. If so, it triggers by a probability controlled random algorithm whether rain is happening or not."
So, from what I've read is that a probability that's under 25% will not give rain. Probability over 75% will give rain, while between 25 and 75% will follow some witchcraft algorithm to decide.
Then again, it's only "in some situations" and may be overridden by sudden new real life weather data.
It sends out a call for new weather information every 3rd minute, and then the new weather is delayed 1min before it's applied on the server. This to allow some sort of transition. So if it goes from rain to no rain it gradually goes away during that minute instead of just stopping abruptly!

It's way to techy for me to understand how it properly works, but it works really well so I don't care!
