I really wanted to like this car, and I kind of do like it, but the way it steps out on you with even just a little throttle feels canned, and not like something that's happening organically. It's really pissing me off.

The 1983 cars lost a boatload of downforce compared to the ground effect cars of 82. But this feels a little lacking in grip. What this car feels like to me is the F Retro Gen 2 - the 1978 car- but with more power. That earlier car is a joy to drive, not too much aero and progressive grip loss/drift when pushed. This McLaren is similar handling but with way more power with everything happening faster. The low speed lack of grip, though, is really over done. I hope they have another pass at this car, as I too really want to like it more.
