Car color is different then dds file ?

I want to make a skin for the ac_legends_capri_rs3100.
The base color should be white.
If I create a dds file with the color white, without transparency, the car remains gray.
I don't understand why this is and where this information; gray instead of white comes from ?
Can someone help me ?
 
Skins use 2 textures, txDiffuse and txDetail, either one can change the color. Lots of cars have both default white but some might not. It sounds more like the shader settings are just making it a very dark white though if you can make txDiffuse white and solid and that doesn't work.
