F1 2017 Career component wear

How is others finding the engine wear in career mode.
Race distance 25%, driving for renault.
Im just about to start monaco, i had to take me 3rd gearbox.
Most engine components are on the 4th.

I used manual gearbox for Melbourne, i changed to auto because i thought it was causing the high wear.

Seems to be a known issue. Theres a few threads here on the subject and on steam. From what I've read careers with 50% race length aren't affected
