Championship preview pictures not showing up

Why aren't the championship.champ.jpg season preview photos aren't showing up in Content Manager even when the championship.champ.json and championship.champ files are named identically... and the championship name has been defined correctly in the champ files?

What could be the reason for this?

Edit: I figured it out. I had a folder "champs-off" in my AC Documents directory and it created a mismatch. What does this champs-off folder do and why was it there? Hmm...
