Changing the Starting Grid

Hi all, I'm currently learning how to work with 3DSimED3, ksEditor and Blender because I want to expand the grid slots on some circuits.
For example I have a Magny-Cours track with 24 grid slots, but I really like to upgrade it to 28 slots. I tend to search Youtube, but couldn't really find the right video yet.
What's the easiest/user friendliest program for changing grid slots? And does anybody have a good tutorial for me
