Charlie Whiting has Died aged 66

Terribly sad news, two days before the Australian Grand Prix weekend begins, Race Director Charlie Whiting has died.

Thoughts to his family and everyone in F1 who will miss him. Who will replace him, especially at such short notice. A horrible way to start the season.

RIP Charlie.

Terrible. He's been at the forefront of driver safety and heavily involved in that aspect of the sport for as long as I can remember.
He will be sorely missed around the paddock I bet.

Incredible loss for the world. I read he was still checking the track for risks on wednesday, so this must have come all very quickly and so unexpected.
He was the one important link between the drivers and the FIA and cannot be replaced.
Very sad.. F1 races will never be the same again with him missing.
