Welcome to the RD Racing Club.

Now we're going really back in time to when Monza got the name Temple of Speed.
This 1966 version is 10km long without the variantes and Ascari but with an oval part.
So remove all your downforce items and pray that you stay on the ground!

As all events in this championship, we're doing two separate races tonight. That are also two separate S.GP events.
After the 1st race you have to leave the server and join the server of the 2nd race that will be started shortly after race 1 has ended. YOU HAVE TO DO THIS YOURSELF, IT'S NOT AUTOMATED.

Official practice time for both races is short so we can have two races tonight. There's a server available during the week where you can practice and configure your setup.

I did a first test run with both cars offline and had good fun with the AI. They are surprisingly pretty competitive here and a good way to gain a bit of experience in driving the banked corners in traffic. We went through it three wide, which I wouldn't dare in the league event.

This track is brutal with a CSL DD (8Nm) wheelbase. If I turn the gain down so that its manageable on the banking then the wheel is almost lifeless on the normal bits. Any suggestions on settings? I've tried ffbclip but can't get any setting to my liking.

Ihave mine dialled in at 84%,u always get it rough on the bankings on this track.part of the appeal...
There is the gain in the wheel base driver (mine set to 100%) and the gain in CM ( mine set to 50%) and the per car gain (mine set to 70%) - so I make that 100% x 50% x 70% = 35% in total.

What are the three value settings you are using Alan? If mine was at 86% (meaning I'd need to set the per car value to 192%) then my rig would self destruct.

My worst night here by far.
Again, I've been a victim of the bad rejoins from other people and too optimistic/ping-issue moves in the start, both races destroyed very early. We all make mistakes, of course, I've done a couple of them this season and apologized. But I'd say in at least 6 races I've received this kind of heavy impacts, losing 10-15 seconds minimum. It's a shame because I miss the good fights I see in front of me, with similar pace than mine but as I'm 15 seconds behind I can't enjoy them. And thanks we have light damage.I'll check what's happened, if the errors or moves have been too bad I might consider to do my first reports :( I would hate to do that, but I think it could be good for the league standards.

Besides that, I've been slower than expected tonight. With the 60s, Lotus was 3 seconds better than the first Ferrari, if I'm not wrong. I didn't expect such a big difference. Anyway, I was one of the slowest Ferraris. I wonder if it was 100% my driving technique or setup was important. Regarding setup, maybe camber (I've used the same all the races) or gearbox were keys (I was slightly faster using 4th gear at top speed than 5th). Fixed car and most of setup for next league, please. Who's with me? :D
With the 70s I've been a bit better in the race but again too slow during qualy even though I've used 101% engine limiter tonight :roflmao: Next time, 108% and let's see hahaha

A bit frustrated tonight, I've fought against myself not to surrender and rage quit and finally I've continued until the end. Only proud of that tonight, to be honest. But looking forward to Watkins Glen and more races here as always!! Thanks for the organization, I love to see many drivers in the grid :) I hope we can be around 20 again, although 15-16 is fine too of course. Have a nice week

Wow! I'm still using the g29 and I've had to decrease the gain to 10% haha I didn't want to listen my neighbors knocking at the door :D The feeling was great on the banking! I've liked this old Monza :)

What a nostalgic event that was! Had lots of fun although messed up second race already being lucky in P2 after bad luck at start losing lots of positions. Got distracted as I saw that fuel wont last, somehow calculator was not right dont know why as it said ok for 16.5 laps. Race two I did lengthen 6th gear as I thought it would be benefitial in slipstream but I think that was a mistake as I lost tenth on the straight. Was running rear wing 1, maybe that was the problem, rear wing 0 was too risky for me not having that much practice.

Race 1 was great coming in as the first of the Ferraris, Lotus were unreachable. Thought I would have no pace in the 60s car but it was actually ok. Had lots of fun first laps going three wide and slipstreaming at the straight with Axel and Richard.
Being at Monza watching F1 in 99 (had won the ticket at a public simulator contest back then here in Germany, there were lots of them at any fair in the Schumi era, Frentzen won the race) and seen the banking it's still hard to imagine what it feels to race that in real life.....
Thx all for showing up and the great battles and thx Han for organizing. cu next time.

Some impressions:

Axel, Richard and me going three wide.....

Survived these races......somehow.
Partly scary.
I hit a standing car at 310 km/h on the straight.
I am sorry, that was me. I spun/had contact coming out of the oval, while on the inside. Very bumpy there. And then i was standing facing all you guys. Hoping everybody sees me. But one didn’t, it was you, I am sorry, you don’t expect a car standing still on a straight.

Bad racing from my part. I had a reasonable pace but I screwed up twice with downshifting to first gear in Parabolica with a 180 as consequence. And also I ran out of fuel in the last oval. There's definitely something wrong with the fuel calculation from AC for this car.
In the 70s race all went well until I had sudden understeer in Lesmo 2 with also a 180. Very strange because I never had this before with this car there.
That was such a shame because at that moment there was a fair chance on a podium and finishing in front of Enzo again. Now I had to be glad that Thomas got out of fuel so I could finish 7th.

I guess that these events are very educational for me because I can't remember a single race in which I screwed up. Well, there are still two(4) to go so who knows.

Congrats to the podiums and see you in two weeks.

(reluctantly): Very impressive driving of @Enzo Fazzi in the '70s Lotus including 2 offs in Parabolica to become 3rd in the field of the superior Ferrari's.
