Welcome to the RD Racing Club.

This week it's round 3 of 6 in the classic car Fat-Alfie's championship. We're at Deutschlandring - a showcase for 1930s German engineering, boasting the fastest corner in Grand Prix racing, designed to host the 1940 German Grand Prix... destined never to be used at all.

In short: bad start, immediately afterwards a bit messy through the first long curves (no wonder with the traffic), catastrophe avoided, mental calculation as to whether or when I could catch up with Mika, calculation solved when I saw that he was changing tires and I wasn't, sixth place on the grid brought across the finish line.

As always, great event! :)

Initially I wasn't going to change tyres, but I was certain that you would catch me even if I had stayed on the old tyres. So I thought that I won't lose anything by getting new tyres, and just maybe someone ahead of me would have problems with old tyres. Didn't work out that way, but I took what I could - not enough pace here.

But this time I'm happy about the result, because I finally got at least one clean race. I even had fun :cool:

Great race, thank you everyone!

Great race everyone, especially the close racing with Allan and Steve (plus Laurent for a bit at the start until his significantly faster pace helped him disappear after Jason!)

As you might have seen on the game chat I couldn't connect to the Discord voice channel last night. It keep saying 'Connecting" and the 'Disconnected' every five seconds repeatedly. It strongly seems that my connection request was rejected by RD. Han is there someone who can check some log file to see the reason?

I tried all of the following last night to no avail:
* Discord restart
* PC restart
* Discord uninstall/reinstall
* Discord from my phone
* Discord from browser
* Disasaociated Discord from my RD account and reassociated (plus clicked on RD car icon in read-me-first post in RD Discord channel!)

All made no difference and to be clear Discord was working fine on a 1:1 right after the race (with Colin). I honestly have no idea what to try now so any help gratefully received.

Strangely a quick test this morning suggests I can now connect again. Maybe there was a lag on the reassociation?!

@Neilski Hi Neil, is there a staff member with knowledge of Discord to help Richard?

Thanks all for racing. As driving was rather painful I decided to skip qually because in 9 out of 10 races I find myself in the back anyway after lap 1. It was a good decision because I could avoid most of the mess in the fast left handler by driving on the grass on the ride side using the fence and gaining quite some places. An interesting first stint with Colin almost within striking distance in front of me. When the car became lighter, my pace got better and I could overtake him with Paul being the next target. When Paul pitted I decided to go for the overcut with a new Pb for me. Unfortunately I totally missed my pitbox and I lost about 20s there. Sp Paul stayed in front and in the last lap even Ernie who had fresh tyres could pass me. At that moment my left front was red at 22% and understeer in right turns was huge.
So finished 10th where 8th would have been possible with a normal pitstop.

Bit late now but what were the rules regarding the pit since it had no divider from the track? some of us went straight from/back to the track and some went the whole length.

No idea what was wrong with it, but am glad it's working now. Our [edit: Discord] server's audit log says the last change made to your account was last night at 19:47 (Premium role was reinstated, having been removed about a minute earlier).

Hey Richard, great race. I had a bad start. You came past me and i stared at your ass for the entire race. Not a pretty sight. Anyway, more to the point. I have been without discord for over a week and tried everything you did. To complicate things with me i discovered i have two accounts. I was able to connect using the newer account but still not on the original one. Every other channel works fine so i believe it is an RD issue of some sort to do with premium accounts. I see you now have it working, if it happens again open a new account. We only use it as a tool for chat so not really a problem i guess.

Well, I'm pretty certain it can only ever work on one Discord account at a time - the one that is associated with your RD account. From recent evidence, it seems like the bot promptly updates the associated Discord account to Premium status right after the association process is carried out (seconds/minutes, not hours).
