As the title suggests, I am planning a potential build of a replica Ferrari 488 wheel to fit a thrustmaster base (for now). Trying to come as possible to something like this:
I've identified someone who knows what they're doing to fabricate the frame but a few questions:
- any suggestions on diameter 300 or 350 mm? Is 350 mm too wide for Ascher paddles or other?
- was planning to use Knitter
for the push buttons unless someone had a suggestion for something else.
- for the rotary switches I was thinking using cts encoders unless there's good reason to use a selector switch ( 12 position?) for some positions like mix or map.
- speaking of the rotary switches, any suggestions on a source for knobs that would come close to those on the wheel pictured?
- any other lessons learned would be appreciated
Thanks in advance for any help.
