Could an update stop AC from working ?

Just wondering, I'm pretty much on the bleeding edge as far as AC. It works great nice and smooth, but I do constantly get the warning that Windows has detected your performance is low.
So If all of a sudden AC got new updates changing the engine or something else that made the game unplayable, is there a way I could not do the update and keep the game the way it is ?

i guess you have windows 7 ? mostly has to do with desktop manager and themes..
for fun = try to set windows theme to basic and play assetto .. if you got no message you pin pointed the issue

AC isn't receiving any more updates.

About that windows seven warning message, I suffer that same behaviour here but there is a simple workaround.
Right click on AssettoCorsa.exe in your steam folder and open Properties panel. Go to Compatibility tab and tick "Disable desktop composition" in the settings.
Now, when you are going to start assetto corsa, windows will disable aero during that time (and reset it after) and you will not be annoyed anymore with that message.
