CSP makes graphics worse?

Hey guys,
So recently I did a clean install of AC and was in shock how the game looks like vanilla - MUCH BETTER imo.
So I started to disable/enable features to see where is the change coming from, and was quite shocked to see most of the change (for worse) comes from just enabling CSP (everything else was disabled, just ticked the 'Active' tab in Shaders Patch

Here is how the game looks like with CSP on (and all the rest disabled)

And here's the same scene with CSP off:

Maybe it's a matter of taste, but the road texture is much more realistic and detailed imo: the CSP one looks like clay, while the vanilla has more grain, detail and stains on it - like a real road

I don't know if it's something on my side only, or we got to a point where the community is modding the game to a point were it actually starts to be worse :/

I really hope that's an issue on my side cause with all new mods you can't run the game without CSP - but I really want to have the original visuals

Have you tried disabling CSP lately? got a clue what's going on?

have so seen HOW MANY OPTIONS your CSP has?
It depends on WHAT is activated and what not and IF that fits your graphics-card/drivers AND the filter you are using...
the most modders, who created post-processing-filters also have fitting CSP-PRESETS avaiable, to setup your CSP to best fit to the filter...but then always your hardware plays a role too...and you just have to try wich setting suits your PC.

And like the FIRST SCREENSHOT looks like, your CSP has EVERYTHING deactivated...absolutely nothing is highlighted/activated on the left bar and not a single box checked...NO WONDER it looks that crappy.

I'm no expert, but your CSP setting should fit to your ppf and your graphics-hardware...but in your case, just EVERYTHING seems to be deactivated...is there no standart-setting you can load???

A first step would be, to go over everything highlighted in RED (non standart) and activate it...and not only on this page, but on ALL pages you can scroll through on the left side, that are grey...because, when those features are activated, they show up white and not greyed out.
Checking the "activate CSP"-button, when everything else is deactivated, means "deactivate everything"!!!

Then I think you should get yourself a preset, fitting your pp-filter and from there, just try and error, until you're happy with the result

@kleint : I agree with you. I'm disappointed that quite a few mods rely on CSP, and I wish I could go without it. I also wish I could activate other extensions (namely "VR Tweaks") without activating CSP itself. But it's an integral part of a good experience (for me at least), so I'm willing to overlook the graphical disappointment.

when you just blindly disable all std. settings on "general page" of CSP options, you end up with something that looks like yours, be reasonable, reset to default at the bottom

edit: after that take 2mins to shortly make an educated guess at what those options mean, and maybe disable some, if you dont know, dont touch!
