Dan Gurney's driving days were behind him when I really began paying attention to racing but knowing some of his history and seeing his development of cars like his indy car effort or the GTU/GTO and in particular the GTP class Toyota's that basically brought to an end a series as we knew it by winning everything in sight. The racing community owes a debt of gratitude to this racing icon. Dan Gurney, AAR and The Eagle will live on as the pinnacle of motorsports.
