Skins DDS export filter/plugin/setting for Photoshop CC 2018

The exporting of DX5 textures with Alpha hasn't looked "right" for a while. I'm not sure if the problem is my DDS export or not as ive seen mod tracks with the same problem of this blurry "haze" around trees. It wasn't a problem, then became a problem about 2 years ago.

There is a solution for gimp as well that can import and export bc7 dds files. But it is pretty limited at the moment. I'm posting this in the hopes that someone who knows python might be able to fix the issue. In the end the only thing missing from gimp is the export settings options.

So it works like this:
1. Download gimp
2. Download texconv.exe from here:
https://github.com/Microsoft/DirectXTex/wiki/Texconv
3. Download the python script that allows gimp to use texconv:
https://gist.github.com/Equinox-/19d726d4c9cd59f8617429b3a6a8e16c#file-readme
4. Change the BINARY="""C:/Your/Path/To/texconv.exe""" portion of the python script to point to your texconv.exe AND change \ to / in the address. Drop the file in C:\Program Files\GIMP 2\lib\gimp\2.0\plug-ins
5. Should work.

What I'd hope is that someone edits that python script to include all the bc7 dds export settings from texconv so you can export more than just one type of bc7 with it. It doesn't look like a massive job... I think.

There is also a graphical gui for the texconv so if you just want to use the texconv tool you don't need to use it in text mode: https://vvvv.org/contribution/texconvgui

For me too. And i don't see so big difference in the file sizes, even with all mipmaps included (2k skin from screenshots above)

P.S. i have one more dds plugin (use it on my Mac) and images looks the same as created with Nvidia plugin. I not have tested Win version of this
Thank you bro you saved my Photoshop
