Debating which Scorpion actuator I need to order for GT3 racing

Dears,

I’m at the point to order PT actuators, After I reviewed possible other solutions like DBox and the SFX 100 solution from ERacing. My mechanical skills are that good So the Complete actuator kit will for me the perfect solution, DBox is to expensive and cannot be upgraded (easily)
Now the question is do I need the scorpion Super with the 150mm travel for GT3 racing or will the Scorpion experience with 100mm travel enough? Thanks in advance for your feedback and thoughts

I've 150mm PT-Actuators. I think I use about 30% of the travel for sim racing.

It's great though for flight, where I can REALLY get some roll on the rig.

100 will easily be enough. Less is kinda more with motion.

Dbox have loads that do about 2 or 3 inches lol.

Thanks! good to known that you only use 30% of the movement with racing. So 100mm will be more than enough…

Yes as my friend Colin said above. For modern GT’s /Formulas 100mm is more than enough.
if you plan to drive Rally/ flight then you need 150mm.
However if you are planning go to the PT route, please join our WhatsApp group called “ PT Owner Club”. We are over 200members from all around the world. We have Shao, Barry , Thanos and Sim Racing Studio guys( the motion software that we PT members use mostly). Please PM me if you want to join this group.
Cheers Wajdi

I recently swapped from SFX 100mm to SFX 150mm, and I find it really great for tracks with big elevation change. I've driven on some of these tracks in real life and the 150mm does remind me of the cues and sensation when I'm going over these big banks, up/down hills on the tracks. I race in VR and set up motion compensation with SRS, the immersion is very impressive.

I agree that 100mm is more than enough to replicate the dynamic of GT3 cars, but the additional range from 150mm is excellent to bring out the characteristic for these tracks. So my vote is for 150mm so you have the range when you race on these tracks. You can always set it to operate at 100mm if you really want to.

just my 2 cents and good luck! Motion is fun regardless of 100 or 150mm (but not 1.5" ;))

First of all thanks for your reply and opinion, I don’t have plans to fly or playing rally. I definitely go the PT route it now only a matter of 100 vs 150 mm travel.. Ofcourse I would like to join the WhatsApp group I will share my number by PM.

Thanks for your option, I leaning more towards 100mm now cause the cost of the 100mm vs 150mm is 800 euro which to me is allot.. And 100mm is way better then the DBox solution.. I know there is a 6 inch solution from DBox as well but this is way over my budget…
