Deleting Kunos cars

Hi,

My Assetto ssd is nearly full and I am not ready with mods yet

So I ask myself if it’s possible to delete the original cars which I do not use anymore?

Or will the game/steam recognize that and reload them every time ? Or will be other problems doing so? Has anybody experience with that?

I already deleted some tracks like drift or highlands and so on and this caused no problems.

It should be fine. Test the waters by removing some of the kunos car folders (but don't delete them yet) and see how you go, it shouldn't pose a problem at all.

As long as you don't verify the install it'll be fine, same as tracks. You may want to look at this though -

Windows 11, 10, 8, 7, and Vista all support symbolic links — also known as symlinks — that point to a file or folder on your system. You can create them using the Command Prompt or a third-party tool called Link Shell Extension.

which will let you put files on a different disk & then have them pretend to be on the ssd. The load times will be that of whatever disk they're on rather than the ssd, obviously, it'll just let you keep the structure intact.
