Directx Shader settings.

Does anyone have experience with using the Directx Shader feature in 3DsimED for editing GTR2 tracks?

I've used it a bit but not really played around with it too much. There are literally hundreds of settings for textures, so many that it would take forever and a day to test each one and see what it does. I've been trying to find a comprehensive list of the texture shader settings but there doesn't seem to be one on any of the Modding forums.

Are there any specific shader options that developers would recommend for GTR2, and why?

What are the benefits of adding textures to the channels for specular and bump?
