something weird happened in Dirt 2.0 in VR today, and I think someone clever with the game codes can find it.
Let me explain, I left the game running today in VR in the service park in Wales while I went to make some lunch. I hung the CV1 hedset on its hook. When I came back to my game room after maybe 45 minutes I noticed that the binocular screen image of the game on the desktop instead of being off camera and black screen was showing some ground texture.
Didn't think anything of it at the time until put the headset on. Gone was the small 2D window that we usually have. The service park was now full 360 degree 3D vr. I could turn and look all around the service park, I got out of my rig and was able to move closer to the car, which kind of had the service menu embedded in it, if my rig and screens were not in the way I could possibly have walked around the car. I was able to turn, look up, look down at the ground and move closer to the service vans as much as my cable would allow.
So this possibly means that the service park may well be rendered somewhere in the game in full vr.
Now the importance of this being a feature isn't so huge, but when I clicked to start the stage, I also went to the stage start in full vr (not the 2D window), and was able to look around on the start line with the car running up to the start as if I was a spectator, until the view timed out and put me in the driving seat as normal.
This leads me to suspect that, and an important one, possibly the replays are also hidden in the game to be viewed in full 3D vr as Dirt Rally apparently was, I didn't play D1 in VR so can't confirm this.
I know this game is seriously well securely coded but maybe some one can get into it and see if there is a 3D replay feature hidden in there somewhere. Or even full vr in the menu as well.
I've tried this evening without success to replicate what happened by leaving the game running with the headset hung up. Some odd glitch though did allow the service area to open up in full VR.
