Disable sound from Opponents / AI

Hello , recently the Opponents/AI have full sound again, I think since the last update. I once managed to disable the enemy's sound, which really annoyed me. Unfortunately, I no longer know what to set/change where and how so that I only hear the engine noise of my own vehicle again. Who of you can help me or give a good tip. Thank you in advance.

All this stems from the new sound update, which requires all cars to have stereo sounds separated into mono samples. So until all the cars are updated, you will suffer from these problems.
Most users have found that the majority of cars without sound updates present other noises like the curbs and opponent engines too loud. THEN users who drive the fully updated cars like the IR 18 or rFpro have said the opponents are only heard when they are right along side of you. So depending upon which cars you are using, you can turn down the special effects slider under the legacy section of the sound screen. This will change again as cars/mods get updated by their respective creators.

Hi ,
Thank you for your answer . I've tried everything, the noise that the other S397-GT3 vehicles make cannot be effectively reduced or even completely eliminated. In my opinion, the fun of this simulation is lost because of this. I hope that there will soon be a simple solution to the problem (possibly an update). But if someone has another idea I would be very grateful.

Time. They have to update every car and so far only the rFPro, the IR 18, & the test Oreca 07 have been updated. I don't know if they will release car updates piecemeal or wait for the Q3 release. So Time will tell. Try those cars, if you have them, or, wait.
(edit)
I forgot about the two BTCC cars, they too have the latest updates to take advantage of the new sound system.

Hi ,
thanks for your tips and answers. Have tested everything, but was unsuccessful. Since this is a problem that currently makes the simulation unattractive, I wrote directly to S397. I even got a quick answer, I was told that the problem is known and that they are working on it .... :) , I hope for an update soon

Take this for what it is - but in good ol NR2003 there was a similiar stereo/mono sound bug.
But it was possible to sidestep it if you converted all the stereo sound samples to mono.
Check this out:
The cause of the crash is that the internal OpenAL engine is only able to create surround sound if its input wavs is mono!!

EDIT: #5

I tried that without success .

Which do you recommend ?
old-ui - The old UI that is currently deprecated.
previous-release - This is the previous public stable build.
release-candidate - The latest available public build, a release candidate to become stable soon.
v1121 - v1121
v1122 - v1122
v1125 - v1125

Yes mate, "previous public stable build"

You stuck with old ui and a little clunkier but you do get the sound options

You can also race anything as you won't get the " everything too loud" syndrome ;)

Great ! It works :) , but it´s now important to start rF2 in oflline mode , but it´s ok for me .
THX .... :)

But I only have the following options on Steam: 1. Update this game when the game starts, 2. Always keep this game up to date, 3. High priority, update the game first.

If I don't want the update after all, I have to leave Steam in offline mode. Or is there another way I can prevent the automatic update?

If you don't select beta it can't update build only content

Automatic update will not change which build you are running. It will update the latest version but not touch older ones and definitely not swap your build to the newest. The only way to move between builds, both forward and back, is manually.
