Disconnected from servers since latest update.

I updated ACC a couple of days ago and since then I cant connect to the servers.
I just keep getting the red dot with 'disconnected' next to it.
I've verified the files in steam but I have no idea how to remedy this.

Just the act of asking the question on this forum seems to have miraculously fixed things.
I'm racing again!

To add to this, I occasionally get the red dot of doom too, usually after an online race, but not always, it just sits there being a bit 2001.
