Does AC have the ability to run LeMans and Rolex 24hr events like RF2

I have been getting into running 24 mins at 60x time compression in RF2 at LeMans and Daytona so thought I would see if this sim could do it as I enjoy also ACC, PC2 can sort of do it and has a realy nice day/night thing so was chasing a more beefed up sim with a bit better look to it as RF2 while being prety good just seems to miss the day/night part.

Any thoughts/suggestions

Sol is the answer to your question. If you haven't already install Content Manager, Sol and Custom Shaders Patch. Sol is a weather day/night cycle patch, CSP makes the game run and look better, and CM organises it all and in a far better UI.
Thank You

Now I have a answer on that part I am pretty sure that the rest will come together. Off to the Steam store page I go

It is also possible to do driver swaps in multiplayer as well if you list out all the Steam IDs of the drivers. You also need to ensure the driver goes past the start/finish so that the lap counts before they disconnect and the other player connects to get into the car. This also usually means a minimum pit timer mod is a good idea so that faster connections/machines don't gain an advantage in the pits. But its perfectly doable to run such events, I have participated in a bunch with Arcis (I don't recommend the community at all the races were an organisational mess) and it can work if you get all the details nailed and its a lot more reliable than RF2.

Sol is only an answer to the TOD cycle though. No matter how hard you try you will never have the same tools and ingame options as in rF2, simple as that and at this point I am not even sure if rF2 with the new graphics and content updates is the worse looking alternative. I tried that yesterday and the track, surroundings, ambient feautres and lighting in rF2 are just alot better, while not even taking track accuracy into consideration. But it comes at a price.
If you plan on running offline endurance races I would recommend you to not use AC as there isn't even an option to run timed races, the grid size is limited to 32 cars and the AI is garbage. I've been running offline endurance races with the URD mods and Enduracers running the 2015 Le mans grid with over 50 cars, so good luck in trying that with AC. in rF2 you can go as far as simulating endurance races with any kind if fuel/tire/damage and time multiplyier as you like and plugin real weather, rolling starts, so all in all it offers just alot more options, flexibility but also complexity. Even running the full 24 hours by using the resume from replay system is possible offline or even in coop with a friend. Only downside right now is that FCY and SC are not working properly, so increasing SC threshhold by over 9000 is the way to go. :D

I am also not sure how good the Sol system works for online gaming in terms of weather and time syncro to the clients so that all drivers are forced to drive in the same conditions. To call Sol a replacement would be a far stretch. That said, I have seen people doing 24 hour races on AC, so if you find a good community to organize such events then that's a possibility. For offline use, clearly not. In that regard I allways wondered why Kunos never went a little step further in offering more options for timed races and starting procedures considering that alot of their content is endurance and GT content. But well ... :(

Currently running 55 Ai at Le Mans in AC, But well ...:)
Interesting. This opens the question, how do I achieve it without hacking and modding and how is the AI performing - or better - how do I get them running in a timed event with rolling starts? I guess there are tricks and hacks for alot of stuff, but rF2 just offers more options from the get go without having to dive into files and mods. Anyway, that's not to say that you shouldn't get AC. Taking the Ruf Yellowbird or the '74 911 RSR at night to the Norschleife with Sol is an amazing experience. But to get what you saw on the broadcast, rF2 is the way to go and there might be a reason why it was used for the event. Maybe wait for the summer sale next week, because they will most likely sell all the content from the event in one single package. If you enjoy simracing, get both. Getting to the pits in the sunset with the animated stuff on track is just something special that you won't find anywhere else out of the box :)

I am using content manager which gives many more options to Assetto Corsa
I already have RF2 and all official content and I enjoy it, but while the official content is getting better some of the earlier stuff is a bit rough. and Still no official SPA which is a big loss
