Download speed

My internet connection might be very mediocre, but only on race department I get a speed of 50-70Kb/s, while my normal download speed is 1,7-1,8Mb/s. Am I the only one experiencing this problem?

My download speed maxes out instantly when I try to download from RD, so this issue is on your end.

I just tried downloading the very same file as you (with a no-frills, non-staff account) and it was fine - it took about 20 seconds, using most of my 75 Mbps bandwidth (the rest was probably used by other people in the house).
Not sure what to suggest here. The problem seems likely to be either with your ISP or with their route to us. Perhaps @Dave Stephenson can assist.

Maybe my input is useful:
I sometimes experience the same issue. Little file, taking ages. Then I wait 10 seconds, try to download it again and it's back to full speed.

Interestingly I need to start a new download to get it fast again. If I just wait it will stay stuck at low speeds.
Never really a problem as waiting a few secs and try again for 1/20 downloads isn't really bad but the "bug" is there for me too. Sometimes.

Also, do any of you know if your ISPs use traffic management? (I know for a fact that mine doesn't, but plenty of them do. And when they do, they sometimes get it wrong.)

Yes, and I noticed this since a week or 2, normally I never have to wait, literally.

Are you attempting to download at peak hours with more than 1500 people online? Or are you experiencing slower speeds during the down hours?

Not tried the morning, I always download a 8-9 gmt +2 or in the afternoon

I have the same issue. My connection is 300mb but for download 155mb I need only in RD about 40minutes

Do we have stats anywhere that show bandwidth usage? I've personally not experienced any issues downloading, but I don't have the huge speeds these guys do. I have 40MB.
