Drifting problem :(

Hi,

i have logitech g29, i watched thousend times on youtube how to drift assetto corsa and different tutorials of wheel settings, did that LUT file and wheelcheck too i only know it makes something better?
Im home right now because of corona and i play 5th day now everyday atleast 10 hours only drift practice.
Mostly i use bmw e30 drift version. Sometimes i try different drift cars nissan toyota etc..
With bmw i always spin out, dont have control, im 5 days practice and zero results, sometimes i get some corner but usually spin after 1 or 2 corner
I know i do something wrong i dont understand do i have throttle control or steering problem.

mp4 file of my drift

You just have to keep practicing. You have to develop muscle memory correlating with how the car behaves depending on your input then just learn corrections. I played daily for about a year before I could make the car "do what I wanted".

Are you aware of different car packs people (groups) have made such as WDTStreet? The most beginner friendly pack would be TandoBuddies and Slideboiz (I think thats how they spell them). There are more advanced packs like DeathWishGarage and WDT or pro comp packs like VDC.

Do you have a 3 pedal setup and handbrake? Its pretty difficult to make any progress without a handbrake.

Nothing is really realistic. You just cant compare drifting in game to real life. Its more accurate to say that over the years "realism" has become synonymous with the amount of skill needed to master a specific car pack. If its too easy, they say its unrealistic. Tandobuddies is probably the easiest so they say its unrealistic. Its no less realistic than VDC.

Anyway, for tracks just look here on RD.

Cars, I would suggest any that you like the look of or whatever you like the feel of. Try them and see what you like.

DWG Death wish garage
VDC Virtual drift champ
WDT World drift tour
WDTS World drift tour street
WDT Winter pack (Snow drifting)
Slideboiz
DSG Downside garage
DCGP Drift champ grand prix
TandoBuddies

These seem to be the most popular.

Lol I appreciate the detailed reply, we did that simultaneously my edit and your reply but that’s great info thanks, some of what I’ve already downloaded and some that I will also that u have suggested them, thanks again
Tried some of the cars I’ve downloaded and without my clutch or handbrake and still using my (lol) mcclaren gt3 wheel it’s impossible as I’d expect but my god they sound amazing…can’t wait til may now

I have the same problem, people don't understand unless they try the Logitech wheel with wdt cars.

I have been learning/trying for about 10 months. This, learning to drift, definitely going to take a lot of patience and practice. Low expectation is better than high expectation. And one day when you first hold a drift longer than 5 seconds, you will be thrilled. You will feel the more satisfied with the small progress you make.

A couple of cars that I used: first M3 drift from Kuno. Next favorite was DTP BMW M1. Both of these cars has a very beginner friendly torque band. I could not drive a turbo car. I bogged down after each drift. Now I enjoy DWG 350Z and started getting into 240SX KA, but I spent time on the SkidPad tuning them doing donuts for awhile.

I don't consider myself a drifter, but learning how to drift helps me learning car control, getting into "slip angle", now suspension tuning.. it's kind of fun and made me quicker.
