DTM | R-Motorsport Aston Martin Withdraw From Series

The closest thing Aston Martin has to do with R-Motorsport ( other than providing their GT3 cars ) is a Swiss dealership - R-MS licensed the AM branding for the DTM car, that's as far as Aston's involvement went and it was certainly nothing to do with AMR who run the GT cars. It's been clear from the start - somewhat less clear when DTM was trumpeting Aston joining, I guess - but AM themselves have never claimed they were entering DTM and if you asked anyone involved with AMR they'd have said outright it's nothing to do with AM.

So, no loss to AM at all, in fact probably a net gain considering any negative publicity will cease ( although they lose the licensing fees, I guess ).

As for motorsport becoming less popular - are crowds any smaller? I consider most modern racing pretty sterile so I'm not surprised there's no immediate impact, but there are probably more other things to get really involved in these days.
