While driving to work this morning on a very rain-slicked road...in a very heavy down-pour, it suddenly occurred to me that my brake pads were the original ones I put in five years ago when I built my car.
They've still got about half-life left.
The clutch disc, I installed eight years ago.
My previous car had its clutch for fifteen years and when I changed it, it was still fine (lots of material above the rivets).
I just elected to change it out of common sense, since it was that old and I had no plans to pull the gearbox back out in a few years when I already had it all apart.
How easy are you on your equipment?
