Everest - Everest Hillclimb

Hi guys,

I created a hillclimb up Mt Everest with RTB, it's still in early days but an earlier version seems to be spreading a bit around Youtube already so I figured I may as well release it in alpha form. It's much longer now (seriously, pack a tent.. and it's now a loop) than it was in the videos, and is constantly being updated.

An absolutely awesome experience in VR and in it's current long length loop possibly one of the most challenging drives ever.

So far it's shown up on Simpit...

I you start from the "pits", it drops off to the side of the road, maybe you could make the road a bit wider there or add a parking spot.
Also, a minimap would be very helpful, and really easy to do (I generated one by using Content Manager), that way you can atleast have a chance against those sudden 90° turns, also some roadsigns could be nice, that warn you about said turns or sudden elevation changes

I plan to add a full pit lane and on the other side of the road a car park, so that should take care of the wideness. The map is coming, the signs are not.. it's like the Nordschleife, once you learn it there's the satisfaction of just knowing where the nasty things are :) Most dangerous turns will have objects nearby that warn you once you remember them. There is a looooot of stuff that's going to be heavily modified, so don't stress too much right now. I know of most issues, the track is just really really early in development and hasn't got anywhere near what I want to put into it right now.

After maybe an hour of failed attempts I managed to reach the summit, took a bit over 18 minutes to get there :D And yes, that was the most (in)appropriate vehicle I could think of :D (Also tried the 595, but 32hp just wasn't enough. The mower, with its 109hp had no problems on even the steepest inclines)

Turned out that the way back was a lot longer, so the whole lap took 51 minutes to complete (I had a brief pause at the summit to take a picture :D). Since I was driving at about 100km/h on average, the whole thing must be at least 80 km long (rough estimate, would be nice to know for sure).

I also noticed, that right before the summit, the road surface got a lot smoother and stayed like that for the rest of the way. Will you also redo the road surface for the ascent?

Also, what are your plans for the future? (aside from the obvious - textures, roadside objects, optimizations and all that), is there just gonna be that one route or some more?

Looks like fun!

To start with I'll get this main loop going, it's entirely possible once I have this main road sorted I could make it more free roam with alternate routes but that'll be far off in the future. The first part was originally dirt which is why it's rough, I'm contemplating redoing that as dirt again.

Saw Alex drive this on The Extra Mile, it did look a bit exciting :D

Thanks for sharing it with us so early!
Not a problem, really hope you enjoy this :) It was actually made as a "throw away" track in a very short time after Alex and I pondered whether you could actually build a road up there. However... it became so popular that I decided to keep developing it.

I'm hoping to be able to drop updates on it weekly, but twice weekly at the latest so we should see some decent progress. It's my first real project so I'm learning as I go, progress is nowhere near as fast as I'd like!

Thank you for the updates ...Having a great time with is track and I do hope someone can continue your project, nothing come close to the thrill of death then this track...Loving it...!
