F1 1997 MOD AI went absolutely bananas

Sorry for discussing this particular mod problem where the mod itself isn't uploaded here. I was wondering if anybody have any idea what to do about this issue of mine

Somehow the AI floored the car at some stage in the race as if they had a brake failure or broken suspension, and then proceed to went out of the race. This doesn't happen once or twice in a race, I did a 28 laps race and I was the only classified finisher since everybody had the 'accident'.

It kept happening despite me turning off the mechanical failures. The closest thing I can get to a normal race is by messing the ".dmg" files to make the cars invulnerable and even with this, the standings are shuffled since the cars in front kept crashing and get sent to the back of grid.

This happens at every track and doesn't happen to any of my car addons. The problem might lies beneath the /teams folder but I don't know which files should I

Such an issue with only one mod at any track implies a serious problem with that mod. My first thought is to completely remove it, download again (perhaps from a different source) and reinstall. Check that the talent files are present (and no other talent files for those drivers, a common problem with several seasons of F1 installed); without talent files the game defaults to a generic setting which is usually too fast (especially considering F1 physics), though I've never seen them so fast they crash to that degree.
