Canada, eh? In keeping with the Formula One World Championship who will be racing at Canada the very same weekend, we will be taking the first car Michael Schumacher ever raced, the Jordan 191, in Formula One, as well as being one of the most beautiful Formula One cars ever made.
And of course, as an Irishman, a very proud moment to have an Irish Formula One team on the grid

Named in honour of the great Ferrari driver, it may be one of the simplest tracks on the F1 calendar but also one of the fastest. Track knowledge will play a big part in the middle sector and dictate maximising entry speed, compromising exit or compromising entry to maximise exit.

A message to all Drivers
If you run off track, you have to check and see that its clear before you re-enter the track. Do not just keep the gas pinned and pull back on track.
When entering the track from the pits stay off the racing line until you are up to speed and do not race on your out lap. Let other drivers by in qualifying.
On re-entering the track stay off the racing line until you are up to race speed and do not block any fast approaching car. Remember, you've made the mistake by going off so let them by cleanly.
Golden Rule

Be 100% sure it's not your fault and just carry on like nothing happened and take the risk of being banned for 30 days.
Play on the safe side and wait for the affected drivers, knowing 100% sure you will not get a ban.

Track limits

No more than 2 wheels over the white/yellow line without a complete lift of the gas please if it is safe to do so.
You will be penalized if you break our rules

Out of interest (and realism sake!) how did the gearbox work in this car? Looks like it had a six-speed manual. I've always wondered whether these shifters were H-pattern? If so I'm guessing they had a very small throw as there isn't much room in there!

I'm assuming the cockpit had accelerator/brake/clutch so did the driver use the clutch on up and downshifts? Did they left foot brake in that era or right foot brake with heel/toe?

Yep, Jordan used H pattern in '91. As far as I know, Williams were the only team that year that started using paddle shift and they had a lot of trouble with it, retiring from a few races because of it. McLaren started using it towards the end of the season I think but probably right up to '93-'94, a lot of teams still used H pattern.

So yes, to answer your question

if you want to the true Tayto & Guinness experience, go H pattern

If you want the whiny Hamilton experience, go paddle shift

And yes, the cars had 3 pedals so the drivers did use all 3 on downshifts, not sure on upshifts though. They might have just lifted off the throttle and lugged it into the next gear, provided RPMs were matched. Safe option is just to use the clutch on each shift really

Thanks for the info, always like to try and keep it as real as I can with my modest setup!
