I just noticed that the numbers are made individually like the 3 and 4 has the McLaren style, so in every team they will keep the style. Does anybody know how to edit this, so i can update the numbers in team changes?

Ricciardo now is in Alpha Tauri for example

You gotta edit driver's number in characters/driver/*driver name*/drivernumber. It's tied to each driver
 
I have made a little basic guide on how to add custom drivers to your game.
Still haven't got this 100% through, but with the help non-commercial modders we've come a long way.

I started on tuesday to edit the database since today a couple of times.
But i struggle hard with it.
Looks like it is no problem to change the driver / staff contract length, the ritirement age, the position of the driver inside the team, driver attributes etc. BUT as soon as i make driver transfers the game crashes then before the Bahrain GP loads up.
Anyone knows what i'm doing wrong or just made the same expiriences?

I have the same issue, indeed. tried to make Pourchaire and DeVries driving with Alfa and Williams and the game crashed too

We've had an update of the game since this week.
You will have to check your FMODEL if it loads the right .pak files when you extract them, cause it has a weird glitch that it uses the old database files when you extract them, leading to the crashes you are having.
 
Hey I got a problem with custom names and custom short names (the three letter ones). When I change the driver name or their short 3 letter name which is visible during the race it's doesn't work as I thought it would be. Custom names are not displayed and custom 3 letter driver code is blank during a race weekend. Does anybody knows how to fix it?

You can only use available names and drivercode from database. If you want custom name you have to edit the localization file

I have a question, how can I import a database to the Pak so that the modified data appears when starting a new game? Jamie Chadwick's mod includes a modified database in the Pak.

I have seen that 2 files are included: Volta.uasset and Volta.uexp

You will have to ask the creator of that mod. I don't know. :)
