Fanaleds help

I am having an issue getting fanaleds to work with my Fanatec csw v2 wheelbase. I followed the instructions on the help page in the fanaleds website in finding the .plr file...but when I try to edit it the file is completely unreadable. It's a bunch letters and symbols just randomly together. Not sure what I need to do to get it working. Any help is appreciated
