Anyone speak French?
At 3:30 of this video I found, he takes out the pot and has plenty to say about it. It looks super easy but I'd sure like to know if there's something crucial he mentions before I go tearing into mine!
First, he think the gearing of the pots is faulty. One part is aluminum, the other plastic: the plastic is wearing... He contacted Fanatec but did not get an answer yet when he made this video, so he is moving the plastic gear to get an unused part facing the aluminum one. He first disconnect the wires...
Starting at 8:58 he shows that the pedals are precise again but not calibrated anymore. At 10:36 how to recalibrate with his wheelbase after the change:
- he goes in the setting mode
- for the up position: he press both paddles, and the middle left button
- then for the bottom position: he fully press both pedals, at the same time press both paddels, and the middle left button
He did not mention any particular thing to take care. He seems to think this is done on purpose so the pedals have a shorter lifespan...
In the comments he said he got an answer from Fanatec: they are sending 2 pots, and want him to send back the faulty ones so they can analyze them. (This sounds like it is
not done on purpose
)
I hope this will help you. Maybe try to contact Fanatec too? Good luck!
